Who we get compared with, and who wins each row

Nobody believes a comparison where whoever wrote it wins all ten rows, and it drags the rest of the site down with it in exactly the meeting where the decision gets made. These carry the column for who wins, and in several of them it isn't us.

The comparisons at a glance

Each row counts how many criteria each side wins out of the total compared, and where the other tool is better. The figures for each competitor come from what they publish on their own website, and each one is dated inside its own page.

Of 97 criteria compared in all, Blastack wins 38 and loses 37. The rest are draws.

Blastack or Steeple

We both solve the same thing: reaching the people who never open their email. Steeple does it with screens on the shop floor, hands-on support and a quote made to measure; we do it with the phone people already carry and the price published on the website. Here it is row by row, including the ones we lose.

Blastack or Beekeeper, which is now LumApps

Beekeeper is no longer sold on its own: since July 2025 it has been part of LumApps, and beekeeper.io now returns a permanent redirect to lumapps.com, its pricing page included. Existing customers keep their contract, price, login and support while the two products are brought together “in phases” over twelve to eighteen months, according to LumApps' own page. This comparison sets Blastack against what exists today, not against a two-year-old brochure.

Blastack or Speakap

Speakap has spent years doing what we do — internal communication for a deskless workforce — and does several things better: an own-brand app, alerts on the phone, and machine translation. What we do is publish the price and not tie anyone in for a year. Here it is row by row.

Blastack or Staffbase

Staffbase is one of the big ones in Europe: an own-brand app in the stores, email newsletters wired into Outlook, and customers of tens of thousands of people. We lose more rows than we win in this table, and the ones we win are the ones that matter if you're three hundred people in one country.

Blastack or Workvivo

Workvivo is the one that feels most like a social network inside: a feed, recognition, podcasts. It's Irish and it has belonged to Zoom since 2023. It was also Meta's migration partner when Workplace closed, so they know how to do this. Here's the table, including the rows we lose.

Blastack or Connecteam

Connecteam is a Swiss army knife: rotas, clocking in, training, tasks and communication in the same app. We do one thing. This comparison is about exactly that, and also about an uncomfortable detail almost nobody looks at until they want to leave.

11 rows · 4 to Connecteam · 4 to Blastack

Blastack or Blink

Blink is British, very much a mobile app for the frontline workforce, with a long track record in healthcare and transport. They publish their price, which is to their credit, and that means you can actually compare. Here it is row by row.

10 rows · 2 to Blink · 5 to Blastack

Blastack or Sociabble

Sociabble is French and their speciality isn't quite ours: theirs is getting the workforce to share what the company publishes on their own social media. If that's what you're after, we're not competitors. If what you're after is the night shift finding out what's going on, here's the table.

9 rows · 5 to Sociabble · 3 to Blastack

Blastack or Simpplr

Simpplr is a modern American intranet with a lot of artificial intelligence on top, aimed at large desk-based companies. And right now it has a dated issue worth knowing about before you sign anything: it's switching off its old platform.

Alternative to Meta's Workplace

Meta shut Workplace down. What you lose by leaving, what Blastack does, what it doesn't, and how the move works in practice, with no magic importer.
