Comparison
Staffbase is one of the big ones in Europe: an own-brand app in the stores, email newsletters wired into Outlook, and customers of tens of thousands of people. We lose more rows than we win in this table, and the ones we win are the ones that matter if you're three hundred people in one country.
Of 11 rows, Staffbase wins 4 and we win 4.
Staffbase is a German internal communication company, one of the largest in Europe. It's built for the corporate communication departments of companies with thousands of people: an own app published on the App Store and Google Play under the customer's brand, email newsletters, and a very well-worked integration with the Microsoft ecosystem.
It's a mature, well-made product. If your company is the size it was designed for, it's a reasonable purchase and this page isn't going to try to talk you out of it.
Row by row
Blastack
€1.00 per person per month for the base plan, plus ten modules costing between one and ten cents each: with all of them switched on, €1.28. There's a calculator on the site.
Staffbase
No price published. Their pricing page points you at a conversation with their sales team.
Blastack
€300 a month for the base plan, or €384 with all ten modules. No minimum, and charged on the people who were active that month.
Staffbase
There's no way to know without asking for a quote. It's a product sized for much larger workforces.
Blastack
There isn't one. Blastack pins to the home screen from the browser, with your logo and your colour, but it doesn't go through the App Store or Google Play.
Staffbase
It's one of their signatures: an own app published in both stores under the customer's brand.
Blastack
We don't send email. What gets published gets read inside Blastack.
Staffbase
Newsletters wired into Outlook, with templates and measurement. It's among the best things they have.
Blastack
No integration with any of them beyond signing in with the Entra ID account. Nothing reads or writes into SharePoint or Teams.
Staffbase
A well-worked integration with the whole Microsoft ecosystem.
Blastack
Single sign-on with the company account over OpenID Connect — Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and Okta — plus SCIM 2.0 provisioning, so joiners and leavers arrive from your HR system on their own. It's the corporate identity module at two cents per person per month, not a reason to move you up a plan. There is no SAML, and that is a decision rather than a gap: SAML is signed XML, verifying it properly means XML canonicalisation, and that is where most of the authentication bypasses of the last decade have come from. If your tender requires SAML 2.0, we lose this row. Worth keeping the scope in mind either way: most of your workforce has no account in the corporate directory at all, so single sign-on covers the office and the joining codes cover the shop floor.
Staffbase
SSO and user sync, as you'd expect at their size.
Blastack
Interface in twelve languages — English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and Czech — and posts in those same twelve: each person sees the whole app in theirs. There is no machine translation: whoever publishes writes every version.
Staffbase
Fully multilingual, built for workforces across several countries.
Blastack
Month to month. Cancel any time, and pay for the people who were active that month.
Staffbase
Multi-year contracts are the norm in their segment. Look at that before you sign, not after.
Blastack
Export of the workforce and the content, with the deletion deadlines written into the data processing agreement.
Staffbase
Their master agreement provides for handing you a copy "in an industry standard format against a fee" for a fee, within 30 days of termination. Watch out: that same agreement cuts off access on the termination date and gives them 30 days to delete everything. The two clocks run at the same time.
Blastack
None. We don't have ISO 27001 and we don't have SOC 2.
Staffbase
A much larger company with customers who demand them; ask what they hold today.
Blastack
Our own servers in the European Union, no transfers outside the EEA, with the GDPR Article 28 data processing agreement and the deletion deadlines in writing.
Staffbase
A German company, so inside the European Union. Ask them for the sub-processor list, which is where the services from further afield usually show up.

The Staffbase figures are the ones they publish on their website, in their developer portal and in their master agreement, checked in August 2026. They change, and we are not a neutral source: check them with Staffbase before you decide anything.
No spin
If any of these three is what you need, go with them. We would rather lose here than six months in.
Having the workforce download "the company app" from the App Store, with the logo on their home screen and native notifications, is a gesture that needs no explaining. We ask people to pin a web page, and although the result looks much the same, it has to be explained.
If half your workforce is desk-based and lives in Outlook, a well-made newsletter reaches where an app doesn't. Staffbase bought the tool that does that and integrated it; we don't do email and it isn't planned.
With staff in five languages and a tender demanding certifications, Staffbase is ready for that and we are not. Single sign-on against your corporate directory has come off that list — we do it over OpenID Connect — but the rest of it hasn't. It isn't a question of quality, it's a question of what each of us was built for.
Our side
Our price is published, with a calculator that runs the same function that issues the real invoices. You can take the figure to your board without having spoken to anyone.
Changing your internal communication tool either works or it doesn't, and you know which within two months. Here you cancel and that's that; with a multi-year contract, if it doesn't work you pay anyway.
Being charged to get your own content back, with the clock running while you argue about it, is the kind of thing you only discover once you already want out. Here it's written down before you come in.
