Blastack

Co-operatives

Internal communications for agricultural, worker and consumer co-operatives

You don't call an AGM with a notice pinned up in the store. Blastack puts the notice on every member's phone, keeps the record of who it went to and who opened it, and calls members members.

What happens today

The four problems that keep coming up

Calling the AGM

The board has to give notice within the deadline and then be able to show the notice went out and to whom. A board in the store and a WhatsApp group are not a record.

A member is not an employee, and they can tell

In an agricultural co-op the member brings in a harvest and isn't on the payroll. Calling them an employee and filing them in a department is the fastest way to make sure they never log in again.

Sections run themselves

Grain, oil and farm supplies each have their own people, their own calendar and their own lead, and what one is told is no use to the others.

The news arrives late and unevenly

The settlement price, the delivery dates, a change to collections: whoever passes through the store finds out, and whoever doesn't hears it from a neighbour three days later.

Use cases

What it gets used for in Co-ops

  • AGM notice to every member, with a record of who it went to and who opened it
  • Each section with its own lead and its own people, and no noise for the rest
  • The product's wording: members and sections, not employees and departments
  • Settlements and documents with read receipts, without anyone coming into the office
  • An anonymous survey before a vote, to find out where the room actually is
  • Members join with a code at the store, no work email needed

What we don't solve

It isn't the formal notice and it doesn't count votes

Blastack does not replace whatever notice your rules require, nor formal service where that is needed: what it leaves is the record of who it was sent to and who opened it, which is backup and not a substitute. And there is no voting: no electronic ballot, no count, no quorum check. That takes something else; this is the channel people actually find out through. The invoice, besides, is a single one and the co-operative pays it: there is no per-section subscription.

Non-profit organisations

Half price for the first year

Co-operatives, associations, federations and clubs pay half for the first twelve months of service: the base fee goes from €1.00 to €0.50 per person per month, and the modules come down the same way. No statutes and no paperwork to send: it is enough to say what you are when you sign up.

It is a first-year reduction, not a new rate. After twelve months the usual price applies again, and the exact date is written on your billing screen from day one.

We called the AGM and for the first time we knew how many members had opened it before the day. It isn't the minute book, but it's far more than we had.
