Blastack

Comparison

Blastack or Beekeeper, which is now LumApps

Beekeeper is no longer sold on its own: since July 2025 it has been part of LumApps, and beekeeper.io now returns a permanent redirect to lumapps.com, its pricing page included. Existing customers keep their contract, price, login and support while the two products are brought together “in phases” over twelve to eighteen months, according to LumApps' own page. This comparison sets Blastack against what exists today, not against a two-year-old brochure.

Of 11 rows, Beekeeper wins 5 and we win 5.

Who Beekeeper are

Beekeeper is a Swiss platform built from the start for the deskless workforce, with a mobile app, integrations into the big HR systems, and very large customers in manufacturing, hospitality and retail. It's a mature product and better than ours at plenty of things, and nothing that follows casts doubt on that.

What has changed is who sells it. On 2 July 2025 LumApps and Beekeeper announced they were joining forces, in a deal their own announcement values at more than a billion dollars. Today beekeeper.io returns a permanent redirect to lumapps.com — the root and the pricing page alike — and customers still sign in at start.beekeeper.io. LumApps puts it this way: “Beekeeper hasn't disappeared — it's grown”.

For anyone already using it, LumApps writes that “your contract, pricing, login, and dedicated support contacts will persist” and that the unified platform will arrive “in phases over the next 12 to 18 months”. No closure date has been announced and no change of terms has been published, and we are not going to invent one. What there is, is a tool that will change shape inside the term of a normal contract, and that is a question you ask before signing.

Row by row

The table, with who wins each row

Published price

Blastack

Blastack

€1.00 per person per month for the base plan, plus ten modules costing cents: with all of them switched on, €1.28. There's a calculator on the site.

Beekeeper

Neither publishes a price: beekeeper.io/pricing redirects to LumApps and lumapps.com/pricing does not exist. Buying goes through their sales team.

Integrations with HR systems

Beekeeper

Blastack

Identity only. SCIM 2.0 brings joiners and leavers across from Workday, SAP SuccessFactors or Entra ID, and that is the whole list: no payslip, no shift, no catalogue.

Beekeeper

Native integrations with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, UKG and a very wide catalogue.

Single sign-on and automatic joiners

Draw

Blastack

Single sign-on with the company account over OpenID Connect — Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and Okta — plus SCIM 2.0 provisioning, so joiners and leavers arrive from your HR system on their own. It's the corporate identity module at two cents per person per month, not a reason to move you up a plan. There is no SAML, and that is a decision rather than a gap: SAML is signed XML, verifying it properly means XML canonicalisation, and that is where most of the authentication bypasses of the last decade have come from. If your tender requires SAML 2.0, we lose this row. Worth keeping the scope in mind either way: most of your workforce has no account in the corporate directory at all, so single sign-on covers the office and the joining codes cover the shop floor.

Beekeeper

Yes, including access from the HR system itself.

Mobile app

Beekeeper

Blastack

A web app you pin to the home screen. Not in the stores, and no offline use. Browser notifications are built, but they are switched on with keys on the server and on iPhone they need the app pinned, iOS 16.4 or later.

Beekeeper

Native app on the App Store and Google Play, with notifications.

Languages

Beekeeper

Blastack

Interface in twelve languages — English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and Czech — and posts in those same twelve: each person sees the whole app in theirs. There is no machine translation: whoever publishes writes every version.

Beekeeper

LumApps advertises real-time translation into more than two hundred languages on its frontline product.

Maturity and references

Beekeeper

Blastack

Young product, small team. Our references are mid-sized Spanish companies.

Beekeeper

Years behind them and rollouts of tens of thousands of people you can ask to see. The announcement of the merger cites more than seven million users and over two thousand clients across the two companies.

Where the data sits

Blastack

Blastack

Our own servers in the European Union, no transfers outside the EEA, with an Article 28 data processing agreement and the deletion deadlines in writing.

Beekeeper

A cloud service from an international supplier. Ask them about location, sub-processors and transfers before you sign.

Continuity of the supplier

Blastack

Blastack

Our own product, no change of ownership. With the obvious flip side that we are small.

Beekeeper

Their site redirects to LumApps following the July 2025 deal. LumApps keeps contract, price, login and support in place, and has announced the unified platform in phases over twelve to eighteen months.

How you get started

Blastack

Blastack

Fifteen days, no card, no minimum term, and without talking to anyone if you'd rather not.

Beekeeper

A demo and a contract through the LumApps sales team.

Anonymous surveys

Blastack

Blastack

Anonymity built into the database and explained in detail on the site.

Beekeeper

They have surveys and pulse measurement; the technical detail of how anonymity works isn't published.

Certifications

Beekeeper

Blastack

None today.

Beekeeper

An international supplier with large customers; ask them what they hold.

The permanent redirect from beekeeper.io to lumapps.com was checked in August 2026, on the root and on the pricing page. The quotes about the integration come from the page LumApps devotes to Beekeeper and from their announcement of 2 July 2025. We are not a neutral source: check it against them.

No spin

Where Beekeeper are better

If any of these three is what you need, go with them. We would rather lose here than six months in.

Everything that plugs in

Signing in with the company account, and having joiners and leavers handled automatically, we now do too. What we don't come close to is the rest of it: seeing your payslip and your shift inside the same app, and the catalogue of connectors behind that. Beekeeper plugs into the HR system; we only take identity out of it.

Proven scale

A twenty-thousand-person rollout across five countries in four languages is their territory. Ask them for references that size and in your sector; we don't have them.

The app in the store

Theirs is searched for and downloaded from the App Store and Google Play, with the company's branding on it. Ours is a web app you pin to the home screen: no listing in the store, and nothing works without a signal. Browser notifications are built, but they are switched on with keys on your own server, and on iPhone they need the app pinned, on iOS 16.4 or later.

Our side

Where we win

The price, and being able to see it

Every euro of difference per person per month is €24,000 a year across a workforce of two thousand. And our figure is published, in euros and excluding VAT, before you speak to anybody.

The data protection conversation

Our own servers in the European Union, no transfers outside the EEA, and the retention and deletion deadlines written into the terms. With an international supplier that conversation is a longer one.

Knowing what product you'll be on in a year

Blastack is our own product and has not changed hands: we are not merging it into anything. LumApps writes that the contract, the price and the login of Beekeeper customers stay as they are, and also that the unified platform arrives in phases over twelve to eighteen months. Both are true and both can be read on their site. What you have to decide is which of the two weighs more on a three-year contract.

Talking to the people who write the product

Being small has exactly one real advantage and this is it: the answer to "do you do this?" comes the same day and it's the truth, not whatever a salesperson who doesn't know says.

The summary

Which of the two, depending on your case

Choose Beekeeper if

  • You need integration with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors or another HR system
  • You already run Beekeeper, you're happy with it, and you'd rather ride out the move to LumApps than change tool
  • You have staff in several countries and several languages
  • You need alerts that make the phone ring for urgent communication
  • Your board requires certifications and references at scale

Choose us if

  • You don't need posts translated for you: each person picks their language and you write the versions yourselves
  • The per-person price weighs on the decision and you want to see it published
  • Your legal team wants EU servers and deletion deadlines in writing
  • You'd rather start with one site this week than open a procurement process
  • You're on Beekeeper and you don't want the tool changing underneath you in a year
