Blastack

Professional bodies

Internal communications for professional bodies and their regions

Thousands of members who are nobody's employees, regions with their own committee, and communications that have to be evidenced. Blastack puts them on the phone and keeps the record of who opened them.

What happens today

The four problems that keep coming up

A member is not an employee

They aren't on the body's payroll, they don't have a work email from it and they are never going to log into a corporate intranet. Any tool that treats them as staff falls over on day one.

The circular goes out and disappears

A regulatory change, a mandatory CPD requirement, a deadline: it goes to thousands of personal addresses, lands in the promotions tab, and nobody knows who actually got it.

Regions run their own house

Each one has its own committee, its own events and its own people, and doesn't want to depend on head office to publish its own things or have head office managing its list.

Committees talk among themselves

Ethics, education, early careers: every committee ends up in a WhatsApp group set up by whoever remembered, with members' details on personal phones.

Use cases

What it gets used for in Professional bodies

  • A circular to every member, with the record of who opened it
  • Every region with its own home page, colour and administrator, who only sees their own
  • Committees and working groups as divisions of their own, not as “departments”
  • A document with read receipts when the communication has to be evidenced
  • The product's wording: professionals or members, and branches or head offices
  • Members join with a code at an admission ceremony, no work account needed

What we don't solve

It isn't the register and it doesn't handle subscriptions

It doesn't hold the register, doesn't collect subscriptions, doesn't issue certificates and doesn't replace your member portal: the list of people is imported and kept up to date, and what Blastack does with it is communicate. On wording, precisely: the word is picked from a closed list and “registrant” isn't on it —the nearest are “professional” and “member”— although each region's own name does appear exactly as you write it. And there is one invoice, in the body's name: no per-region subscription.

Non-profit organisations

Half price for the first year

Co-operatives, associations, federations and clubs pay half for the first twelve months of service: the base fee goes from €1.00 to €0.50 per person per month, and the modules come down the same way. No statutes and no paperwork to send: it is enough to say what you are when you sign up.

It is a first-year reduction, not a new rate. After twelve months the usual price applies again, and the exact date is written on your billing screen from day one.

On the sign-up form, choose “association”: that is the type that fits you, the one that switches the reduction on, and the one that leaves your branches and your committees switched on.

We sent the circular to four thousand members and we knew how many had opened it. With email that was a mystery.
