Comparison

Blastack or Connecteam

Connecteam is a Swiss army knife: rotas, clocking in, training, tasks and communication in the same app. We do one thing. This comparison is about exactly that, and also about an uncomfortable detail almost nobody looks at until they want to leave.

Of 11 rows, Connecteam wins 4 and we win 4.

Who Connecteam are

Connecteam is an Israeli company making an all-in-one platform for the deskless workforce: shift rotas, clocking in and out, tasks, training, communication and chat, all in the same app and on the same invoice.

It's a very complete product with a clear pitch: instead of four tools, one. If what you're missing is rotas and time and attendance, this comparison will probably end up recommending them.

Row by row

The table, with who wins each row

Published price

Draw

Blastack

€1.00 per person per month for the base plan, plus ten modules costing between one and ten cents each: with all of them switched on, €1.28. There's a calculator on the site.

Connecteam

They publish their price on the website too, which is more than most do: four plans from $29 a month for the first thirty users. With one detail worth looking at: the price is PER MODULE, and communication, operations and HR are billed separately.

Free plan

Connecteam

Blastack

There is no free plan. There's a fifteen-day trial with no card.

Connecteam

A free-for-life plan up to ten users, with everything included. For a small team that's hard to beat.

What it costs as you grow

Blastack

Blastack

€1.00 per person per month from the first person, with no tiers. A hundred people is €100 for the base plan, or €128 with all ten modules.

Connecteam

The plans cover the first thirty users and after that you pay per person added, on every module you've bought. Ask them for the number for your real workforce, not for thirty.

Rotas, clocking in and training

Connecteam

Blastack

We do none of that, and it's deliberate: we don't want to be anyone's rota system.

Connecteam

It's their strength, and it's well built. If that's what you're missing, this row decides the purchase.

Native app

Connecteam

Blastack

No app in the stores: you pin it to the phone's home screen from the browser.

Connecteam

Native app on the App Store and Google Play, with notifications.

Focus on communication

Blastack

Blastack

It's the only thing we do: noticeboard, targeting by site and department, moderation with a review queue, and reach measurement.

Connecteam

Communication is one module inside an operations platform. It works, but it isn't the centre of the product.

Measuring reach

Draw

Blastack

Reach per post and per department, sorted by whoever it reaches least, so you know who isn't getting it. A two-cent module.

Connecteam

They have read indicators per post.

Getting the communication history out the day you leave

Blastack

Blastack

Export of the workforce and the content, with the deletion deadlines written into the data processing agreement.

Connecteam

This is where you want to read the small print. Their terms say that when the contract ends you lose access to the content, that "Connecteam is not a data retention service. You therefore must create backups of your data", and that making backups is on you. Their API doesn't expose posts from the communication module. Ask them in writing how the history comes out BEFORE you put two years of announcements in.

Languages

Draw

Blastack

Interface in twelve languages — English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and Czech — and posts in those same twelve: each person sees the whole app in theirs. There is no machine translation: whoever publishes writes every version.

Connecteam

Multilingual.

Where the data sits

Blastack

Blastack

Our own servers in the European Union, no transfers outside the EEA, with the GDPR Article 28 data processing agreement and the deletion deadlines in writing.

Connecteam

A supplier from outside the European Union. Ask them in writing where a European customer's data is held and which sub-processors are involved.

Certifications

Connecteam

Blastack

None. We don't have ISO 27001 and we don't have SOC 2.

Connecteam

A larger company; ask what they hold today.

The Connecteam figures are the ones they publish on their website, in their developer portal and in their terms of service, checked in August 2026. They change, and we are not a neutral source: check them with Connecteam before you decide anything.

No spin

Where Connecteam are better

If any of these three is what you need, go with them. We would rather lose here than six months in.

One invoice for four problems

If your rotas live in a spreadsheet, your clocking in on a machine on the wall and your training on paper, Connecteam fixes all three at once. We touch none of the three, and saying that doesn't matter would be selling smoke.

Starting without paying

The free plan for small teams lets people try it without going through finance. We give fifteen days with no card, which isn't the same thing.

The native app and its alerts

An app downloaded from the store alerts people better and feels more "real". We ask people to pin a web page to the home screen, and although the result looks much the same, it has to be explained.

Our side

Where we win

Doing one thing

In an all-in-one platform, communication ends up being the tab nobody opens. Here it's the only tab there is: the targeting by site and department, the review queue and the reach per group exist because there is nothing else to build.

Being able to separate without losing everything

Plenty of companies come to us wanting exactly this: leave the rotas and the clocking in where they are and move only the communication. You can, and nothing else has to be switched off.

Knowing how you get out before you go in

It's the most uncomfortable row in this table and the one that saves the most money. Our export and our deletion deadlines are written down. Before you put two years of announcements into any tool — ours included — ask in writing how they come back out.

The summary

Which of the two, depending on your case

Choose Connecteam if

  • You want one tool and one invoice for everything
  • You're a small team and you want to start on a free plan
  • You need a native app in the stores with notifications

Choose us if

  • You want to separate communication from operations without touching the rest
  • Your legal team wants servers inside the European Union
  • You don't need posts translated for you: each person picks their language and you write the versions yourselves
